MARTIN, TENNESSEE (October 2015) – Hamilton-Ryker is proud to announce one of our very own Branch Managers, Winston Howard, Jr., has been chosen as one of the top ten national finalists for the 2015 Glen Shepard Excellence in Leadership Award.

“When I became an Eagle Scout many years ago, I was taught that we live in the greatest country in the world and should leave it better than we found it,” says Glenn Shepard in a personal letter to Mr. Howard. “It is my firm belief that one way we can do this is through strong leadership. This is why it’s such an honor to inform you that you are one of ten national finalist for the 2015 Glenn Shepard Excellence in Leadership Award.”

Mr. Howard was chosen out of hundreds of submissions and the winner will be announced in November 2015. Past nominees have included police chiefs, educators, a doctor, a manager of the New York Yankees, a soldier who lost his legs in Iraq, and many others whose leadership is awe inspiring.

“I am honored and humbled by the nomination and being named a finalist for the Glen Shepard Leadership Award,” said Mr. Howard. “I count myself very fortunate to be blessed with a great team who outshines anything I do on a daily basis. As the Branch Manager for Hamilton-Ryker, it is refreshing to know that on a daily basis I have a competent and professional team who makes coming to work a delight.”

“Being nominated and selected as a finalist for the Glen Shepard Excellence in Leadership award is a huge honor within itself and speaks volumes about Winston’s leadership style, the confidence and respect that his team has for him, as well as his overall morals and character,” says Brittany Burcham, Area Manager for Hamilton-Ryker. “Everyone on Winston’s team, myself included, has been positively influenced in some way by the example of leadership and comradery that Winston displays. I am proud to be a part of his team and look forward to more great things to come for Winston in the future.”
