Job Description
  • The Quality Control Analyst performs tests on software products in order to ascertain whether the software functions as it should
  • The Quality Control Analyst provides metrics that are used to assess the risk associated with releasing software
  • Perform black box testing based on manual test scripts written by Sr. Quality Control Analysts and the Quality Control Manager
  • Perform white box testing of processes within the software. For example “Shopping List functionality”; while the test plans are created by Sr. QC Analysts the QC Analyst is responsible to ensuring that all assigned testing is completed
  • Perform Manual Regression and Exploratory Testing as part of Test Plan for product releases
  • Accurately validate outstanding defects and features as “Pass/Fail”
  • Create Test Cases based on scenarios that are assigned by the QC Manager
  • Report results of testing – this includes monitoring issues for trends
  • Run manual test scripts that are assigned by the Quality Control Manager
  • Report results of test scripts – Pass or Fail to the Quality Control Manager
  • Gather required metrics as part of the testing process and report results to Quality Control Manager
  • Attend / participate in QC training to further knowledge of products and of QC Best Practices
  • Must be able to use computer
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Participate in QC departmental training in order to improve testing skills
  • Learn products to provide support to other departments if needed (support overflow)
Required Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
  • Demonstrable computer skills (hardware, networking, Office products)
  • At least 1 year experience in Testing
  • Ability to communicate effectively – with team and with other departments
  • Flexible personality that adapts readily to change
  • Goal oriented – self motivated and directed
