Job Description

Our client has an immediate opening for a Manager of Control. This position is responsible for seven teams of professionals: internal information systems auditing, security administration, change management, disaster recovery planning, compliance, quality assurance, and systems monitoring.

This key position is responsible for ensuring the production environment and physical facility remains continuously secure, stable, and compliant. This position has an operational budget that must be managed.

Job Duties
  • Leading and developing staff
  • Aligning departmental goals with the company strategic direction and achieving those goals
  • Maintaining the library of production operation processes and procedures, performing pre and post quality assurance testing of all production hardware changes and software deployments and changes, validating rollback processes, enforcing quality standards, ensuring all processes, procedures, hardware, and software comply with statutory (GLBA, HIPAA, FRCP) and voluntary (PCI, ITIL, CObIT, ISO 27001/20000) compliance standards
  • Perform vulnerability assessments of the production environment, manage the incident response process for privacy and security events, conduct routine information technology audits of the production environment, implement and enforce internal controls, and administer security.
  • Monitor production systems, manage service level reporting, perform capacity planning, and audit all logging for security and performance issues and alert production operations based on documented thresholds. Manage the change control process for all production hardware and software changes.
  • Manage the procurement of information technology hardware, software, and services.
  • Maintain and update the disaster recovery documentation and plan, and manage the relationship with external providers to coordinate regular testing.
  • Work with the project management office on resource planning; work with the manager of technical services and data services to produce and maintain high quality process, procedure, and support documentation for our production operation; test and validate the documentation before handing it over to the manager of operations.
Required Skills
  • 10+ years experience in information technology audit and security in a large scale heterogeneous, IBM mainframe and Microsoft Windows Server, enterprise environment are absolutely required.

  • 10+ years experience managing the quality assurance or change control function for information systems, software, and technology in a large scale heterogeneous, IBM mainframe and Microsoft Windows Server, enterprise environment is highly desired.

  • 5+ years managing an operational budget is absolutely required.

  • Demonstrated experience auditing and documenting operational standards and processes, creation of disaster recovery plans, and leading technology audits as an auditor is absolutely required.

  • Demonstrated experience with at least six of the following: CMM, ITIL, CObIT, BS 7799, ISO 27001/20000, SAS 70; Software Development Life Cycle methodologies, Six Sigma principles, statistical process control, project management methodologies, and Sarbanes Oxley section 404 is absolutely required.

    Educational background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Computer Science/MIS or equivalent is absolutely required.

  • Masters Degree in Accounting, Business, MIS, Computer Science or related field highly desired.
