Position Title	Manufacturing Accountant
Position Location	Birmingham, AL
Position Type	Full-time, salaried (with benefits)
Salary/Hourly rate	$55,000 - $75,000/year
Job Description	The selected candidate in this position will be responsible for various aspects of accounting functions at multiple manufacturing divisions and will interact closely with manufacturing plant personnel and accounting staff. The environment will be fast paced and team oriented.
Responsibilities	Preparing and analyzing financial statements Providing variance reviews and analysis for division locations Assisting in closing and reporting duties including journal entries, account reconciliations and reporting Participating in month end and year end close processes Inventory observations Generating standard costs for new products as well as existing products when processes or inputs change Participating in the maintenance of internal controls ensuring accurate presentation of financial statements and safeguarding company assets Assisting management in developing and maintaining accurate standards for material, labor and overhead costs Traveling to locations to work with local production and accounting staff to ensure accuracy of process and cost allocations Assisting with special projects and analysis as needed
Required Skills	Basic Qualifications: Bachelors in Accounting 3-5 years manufacturing accounting experience Preferred Skills: Experience in a manufacturing accounting management role, preferred Other Required Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Effective communication skills with people on all levels Demonstrated ability to perform high level analysis and problem solving Demonstrated ability in safeguarding highly confidential information Strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills Travel: Up to 25%
