Job Description Our client has an opportunity for a Sr. SQL DBA. The Database Administrator is responsible for the database development for Web based applications and services.
Responsibilities
  • Design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance tune production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability
  • Troubleshoot production processes and solve problems in real-time
  • Deploy SQL code to production servers
  • Write code for database access, modifications, and constructions including stored procedures
  • Work with application development staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software
  • Support the production database systems and respond to and resolve production issues
  • Responsible for code reviews of developer-written SQL code
  • Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements
  • Estimate effort to complete software development activities and provide input that adds value to the management of software development projects
  • Understand the cost and time constraints imposed on assigned tasks & alert before an overrun occurs
  • Work with the Requirements/Product Management group to assure business needs are met through the implementation process
  • Work with the SQA group to assure best quality and rapid turn around for changes that surface during testing
  • Conduct maintenance tasks
  • Organize work priorities and manage time effectively.
Required Skills
  • College degree in the field of computer science and/or 4 years equivalent work experience
  • Must be positive, enthusiastic, energetic and self-motivated
  • 3-5 years experience with database structures, theories, principles, and practices
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Has analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial development experience
  • Exposure to C#/.Net a plus
