Testing and Training

At Hamilton-Ryker we understand that in today’s competitive business world successful companies must stay focused on their core business.

That’s why we ensure that each candidate is thoroughly screened and has the skills to perform in your workplace.

One of the best methods of matching the right applicant to the right job is by testing and training.

When we talk about testing at Hamilton-Ryker, we mean practical, job-related tests, most of which have been developed through listening to and understanding our clients’ needs.
As the workplace changes and necessary skills become more advanced, Hamilton-Ryker updates our testing to reflect those changes.

While we continue to emphasize the importance of a thorough interview, reference checks and good judgment by our Staffing Specialists, we know that skills testing provides clients additional confidence in our associates’ abilities.

Customized training options ensure that candidate skill levels remain up-to-date so that they continue to be a valued part of the team

With Hamilton-Ryker Virtual Reality (VR) Training, you can customize simulations to your facility and equipment giving employees a training that is next to hands-on. We understand how difficult it can be to train a large workforce in a safe and efficient manner.

Benefits of VR Training:

  • Attract and retain employees that are eager to learn
  • Improve Retention up to 75%
  • Simulate hands-on experience without the safety risk
  • Reduce cost and time for training
  • Decrease your lost production- no more shutdowns for training!
  • Screen new employees and cross-train existing employees
  • Train across locations without the inconvenient travel and expenses

Hamilton-Ryker has partnered with the University of Tennessee and now offers soft skills orientation. Hamilton-Ryker’s soft skills orientation is designed to deliver a more prepared workforce that will increase productivity and reduce employee turnover and conflict. By engaging with the talent in a classroom setting, we help develop the skills needed for day to day success:

  • Effective Communication
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Workplace Violence
  • Performance Behaviors

Hamilton-Ryker is committed to providing safe working conditions for our associates. Each associate is given a personal orientation and provided with copies of professionally developed safety training brochures. These features give a solid start to a safety program and meet “right to know” OSHA rulings.

Hamilton-Ryker stresses the importance of safety. Associates are expected to contribute to and maintain the safety of our client’s environment while they are working in your facility.

Hamilton-Ryker will:

  • Provide a Risk Manager and a Workers’ Compensation Specialist to monitor all claims, track trends, and identify problem areas
  • Provide a continued Safety Awareness Program
  • Promote safety to associates and clients through flyers, safety information packets, and other safety awareness activities

Hamilton-Ryker has developed a Chemical Hazard Training Program in video form. All associates will have had this training before they begin their assignment. Upon beginning an assignment, the only additional instructions would relate to specific chemicals in their immediate work area and information on the location of Material Data Sheets. Hamilton-Ryker will maintain signed verification of this training.

Our position in the industry allows us to develop and maintain strong relationships with laboratories, as well as offer competitive pricing. Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) certified labs are used exclusively for all specimen testing.

The quicker you get your test results, the quicker new employees can get to work, and you can be assured that current employees are drug-free. Our Compliance Services Division utilizes several innovative reporting methods, including proprietary software reporting, and automated toll-free secured voice reporting. Negatives are available within 24 hours of lab receipt. Positive results take up to 72 hours depending on drug type. Our proprietary technology allows test results to be available anywhere in the United States, sometimes within minutes after the test is performed.

Hamilton-Ryker frequently administers specific tests on behalf of our clients. If you have developed your own testing and wish to have the associate complete that testing as well, we will administer it. By working closely with you and responding to your needs, we become part of a successful team with the most productive workers available.
