General Labor – Fresh Pack Food Production – 2nd Shift – 7pm – 5:30am
Overview
We are currently hiring associates in our fresh pack vegetable department. This is a production/packaging of fresh food operation with opportunities on both shifts.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks such as sorting, casing, setting up bins, product inspection, removing defective products, scooping product, clean-up, stretch wrap, or busting out product.
- Know and observe safety, security, quality, sanitation, and personal hygiene requirements and lead by example on the processing floor.
- Work closely with facility personnel to ensure that the facility produces food that is safe, legally complaint, and of high quality.
- Ensure full compliance with government agencies and internal standards for example FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, HARPC, GMPs, Housekeeping, Allergen Segregation, etc.
- Follow work instructions and product specifications for the production area assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to work in a cold environment
- Ability to lift 55 pounds
- Must wear steel toe shoes, long pants with no holes and appropriate tops with no holes or inappropriate language/offensive material – all shoulders and mid-drifts must be covered.
- Must be available for overtime and possibly work 6 -7 days each week.
- 3+ months experience in a food production role, preferred
- Ability to conform to production scheduling requirements
- Excellent attendance is required
- Effective oral communication skills between departments
