General Laborer Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable General Laborer to support daily manufacturing and production operations. This role includes loading and unloading materials, assisting with hand-fed press work, inspecting parts for quality, deburring machined parts, maintaining a clean work area, and following all safety and quality procedures. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-minded, comfortable working in a hands-on environment, and able to learn multiple production tasks through on-the-job training.
Key Responsibilities
· Load and unload materials, parts, and finished products onto or from pallets, skids, conveyors, and trucks.
· Operate or assist with hand-fed press jobs and measure parts to confirm accuracy.
· Sort parts, identify defects or flaws, and report quality concerns.
· Remove excess metal or burrs from machined parts as needed.
· Use equipment such as spot welders or powered industrial trucks when assigned and properly trained.
· Follow work instructions, procedures, quality standards, and supervisor direction.
· Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe throughout the shift.
· Perform other production or labor duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· High school diploma, GED, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and training preferred.
· Ability to read and follow safety rules, operating instructions, and basic procedures.
· Basic math skills, including measuring, counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
· Ability to work independently after training and ask questions when clarification is needed.
· Forklift or powered industrial truck experience is helpful but not required; licensing must meet applicable safety standards.
Physical Requirements
· Frequently lift 40–50 pounds.
· Stand for extended periods while performing production duties.
· Use hands and arms to handle, reach, move, and inspect materials and parts.
· Walk, sit, talk, and hear as needed to complete job tasks safely.
