1st Shift Shear Machine Operator

Location: Paris KY
Shift: 1st shift 5:00am-3:30pm – Overtime is mandatory
Payrate: $16.50 per hour
What you'll do:
- Set-up and operate tools and fabrication machinery for shearing operation to cut metal objects to specified dimensions and angles.
- Perform shearing operations such as blanking, piercing, roll slitting, and trimming.
- Sets stops on machines, changes dies, operates machines based on blueprints
- Perform minor preventative maintenance on machinery.
- Perform visual quality inspections of parts and address issues/areas of improvement.
- Read blueprints, work orders, production schedules, tape measures and gauges, and inspect machine and parts.
- Notify management of issues or concerns in a timely manner (e.g. machine malfunctions, inability to meet required schedule, safety concerns/hazards, etc.).
- May inspect work, using tape, compass, gauge, template, or micrometer to verify dimensions.
- Lift up to 150 pounds and bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch through out shift
- Suggests improvements to promote quality, increase production, and safety.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and lean working environment.
- Wear personal protection equipment and follow safety procedures.
- Follow safety rules, procedures and requirements.
- Perform other duties as needed.
What we need from you:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or over
- Must comply with client’s substance abuse & background policy
- Must have Highschool Diploma/Equivalent
- Must have 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Must be able to visually read blueprints, work orders, production schedules, tape measures and gauges, and inspect machine and parts.
- Must be able to read tape measure down to 16th of an inch
- Must have ability to read and understand work instructions and basic drawings.
