POSITION:  Material Handler

REPORTS TO:  Team Leader

FLSA STATUS:  Hourly Non-Exempt

1st shift- 7am-3:30pm-  $17/hr
Key Responsibilities:

  • Team member will be responsible for complying with all company policies and established plant procedures.
  • Team member will be responsible for loading and unloading material to be shipped and/or received in a safe manner.
  • Team member will be responsible for becoming familiar with the material to load for process.
  • Ability to work outside in all climates
  • Team member will be responsible for operating of forklift in both the 2-ton and 8-ton class if/once certified.
  • Team member will be responsible for moving material in and around the warehouse.
  • Team member will be responsible for pulling and staging orders.
  • Team member must have the ability to read a tape measure.
  • Loading and unloading of material from a flatbed trailer

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key responsibility satisfactorily.  The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.  Individual must hold a valid state issued driver’s license.  Prior forklift and  material handling  is recommended.

Language Skills:
Team member must demonstrate basic language and writing skills to communicate with fellow team members, and to complete any employment related information.

Mathematical Skills:
Team member must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and common fractions.

Reasoning Ability:
Team member will have the ability to define problems and report them to the supervisor or team leader for solution.  Team member must possess the ability to follow and understand instructions assigned by his/her supervisor.

Physical Ability:
Team member will be required to stand, bend, stoop, and squat most of the scheduled work shift.  It is necessary for the team member to lift up to 75 pounds frequently during the scheduled work shift.

Work Environment:
Team member may experience extreme heat, especially during the summer months, and extreme cold in the winter months.   Team member may be exposed to environmental residuals of manufacturing, such as welding flash, noise pollution, dust particles, and fumes.
