Position: Part-Time Cleaner

Location: Georgetown KY 

Shift:  2 days a week – Wednesday and Friday 9:00am – 11:00am  

Payrate: $15.00/hr. 

The Administrative Office Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and professional environment within the Housing Authority's main administrative offices. This role helps ensure a welcoming and safe space for employees, visitors, and residents by performing routine cleaning, sanitizing, and facility upkeep.
 

What you will be doing:

  • Lobby & Reception Care: Daily sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming of the main entryway and lobby area to ensure a welcoming first impression. Clean entrance glass doors and partition glass.
  • Office Cleaning: Empty individual office trash cans and recycling bins daily. Dust desks, file cabinets, computer monitors, and bookshelves without disturbing sensitive paperwork.
  • Floor Care: Vacuum all carpeted offices and corridors; spot-clean stains as needed. Sweep and damp-mop hard surface flooring.
  • Public & Staff Restrooms: Deep-clean and sanitize toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors daily. Restock paper towels, toilet tissue, and hand soap.
  • High-Touch Sanitization: Disinfect frequently touched surfaces throughout the day, including door handles, light switches, countertops, and water fountains, to maintain a healthy workplace.
  • Breakroom Cleaning: Clean and sanitize breakroom counters, tables, and sinks. Wipe down the exterior of appliances (microwave, refrigerator). Empty trash and replace liners.
  • Scheduled Deep Cleaning: Perform heavier cleaning tasks on a weekly or monthly schedule, such as dusting high air vents, cleaning window blinds, washing baseboards, and treating carpets.
  • Meeting Prep: Ensure the main board/conference room is clean, orderly, and vacuumed prior to scheduled agency meetings.
  • Confidentiality & Discretion: Maintain strict professionalism and confidentiality while working around private administrative files, resident data, and employee spaces.
  • Chemical Safety: Safely mix, store, and utilize commercial cleaning agents in strict compliance with OSHA regulations and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Building Security: Ensure windows are locked, lights are turned off in unoccupied areas, and designated secure areas remain locked during or at the close of the cleaning shift.
  • Facility Reporting: Immediately report plumbing leaks, burnt-out lighting, broken fixtures, or any facility safety hazards to the supervisor.

What we need from you:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or over
  • Must comply with client’s substance abuse & background policy
  • Must have Highschool diploma or Equivalent 
  • Must have 6 months to 1 year of professional janitorial or custodial experience 
  • Knowledge of office-appropriate cleaning methods, chemical safety, and basic custodial equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially regarding dust, high-traffic flooring, and restroom sanitation.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a daily checklist, and complete tasks within a designated time window (e.g., after-hours or early morning shifts).
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and respectful of a professional office environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 35–50 pounds (e.g., handling trash bags or moving supply boxes).
